Next Level 4 Boxes Keychain Well, here is...an item.
It seems to be some kind of keychain (note beaded chain at the edge there) but why is it composed of 4 little semi transparent boxes with flip up lids? What are you supposed to do with it? And why give it a chain? If it was a pill case, nobody would need a chain on there. With the black/white theme, it's clearly from that "Welcome to the Next Level" campaign they had where they really pushed the slogan on all sorts of merchandise.
2 of the lids are blank, one has the slgoan, and the other is all black with a white line art Sonic face/pointing finger and the copyright. This is a slightly mysterious item.
Sonic Forces Event Keychains CG Set Here's a set of 6 Sonic Forces Keychains.
These are supposed to be from an event of some kind, maybe a release or a convention. They are likely to be acrylic or rubbery with CG art printed on them. Each is die cut into the outline of the character. You could get classic Sonic, modern Sonic, Shadow, Knuckles, Tails or Infinite.
Noteable about it is the gloomy look of Classic Sonic who is almost never portrayed that way, as well as concerned Tails. Discovered by Ginyu DBZ
Sonic Forces Logo Metal Keychain Japanese A rather stylish keychain...
This one is just the Sonic Forces logo...but it manages to be super stylish due to the material and craftsmanship. The metal is pewter-tone, but probably stainless steel for sturdiness. The logo is done in layers/somewhat-relief, with patina applied to darken the lower parts further/contrast.
It doesn't need color, because it uses texture to convey the detail of the stars, words, and their background. Look at the 'ragged' edges on the strips under the words, and the 'wrinkle' texture inside the stars. The Japanese text under it spells out "Sonic" and then probably their word for "Forces" (so, basically just a direct translation on itself) This is actually really nice, something good and different too...plus, it looks quite quality.
Joypolis 2020 Acrylic Sonic Shadow Keychains Here are 2 fun keychains released in 2020.
These are a Tokyo Joypolis exclusive. What's neat, is that they both use some new stock art for modern Sonic & Shadow. Here, Shadow is seen in total profile, jumping up. This is a nice new look for him, as he seems determined rather than 'always angry' like how they usually have him. Modern Sonic is also in total profile as well, and he's shown with legs far out running. (Likely so he doesn't overly-resemble the profile/running classic one that's all over) Does Sonic's hand seem somewhat small in the art?
The new stock art and shiny thick acrylic surfaces keep these feeling both fresh to look at, and sturdy too. Discovered by GinyuDBZFan
Emoji Style Sonic Keychain More "Emoji" style fun from Joypolis.
This time, it's that thick/flat rubber material as a keychain. It has chibi/emoji sitting Sonic who is smiling. He has a rubber loop at the top of the head, to which the spring-clip is attached. There's another loop either under or behind him, which has an actual /usual ring for keys or attaching other items. This is meant to be Modern Sonic, notice that there is a bit of green detail in the eyes. (Although when 'chibi-fied' like this there's not much difference between them) This is a Joypolis only item, it may have been a prize from a game in 2020 or late 2019.
Is the rubber loop at the top a good idea? It would depend on how sturdy the plastic is for the keychain.
Sega 60th Anniversary Rubber Keychain Set 7 When Sega celebrates the 60th Anniversary, they released this set of 7 'rubber keychains'. This is likely that flat cut-in rubbery texture plastic that captures detail well. The first 2 are Sonic, with genuine classic finger waving Sonic, then the Japanese stock art of 'getting ready to run' Sonic. Tails is likely also classic-classic, where he's looking back with his hands behind his back. Knuckles is the first art they ever really published of him. Tails flys carrying Sonic is neoclassic. Sonic in the winged ring is from the game title screen, and Eggman in the Egg-o-matic but his pointing forward is probably also neoclassic. They're lively and fun designs that work well as a call back to 'early Sonic', but are kept fresh with new art as well. A good set, but where was it sold?
Acrylic Key Charms Set 7 60th Anniversary These are "Acrylic Key Charms"
They're not really key-chains as they are probably rather small. They're clear acrylic plastic, with the color for the sprite design embedded in there/or sometimes sandwiched between acrylic layers. Each has a pixel 16 bit look & is classic. You can get running Sonic, blur shoe Sonic, running Tails, flying Tails, running Knuckles, gliding Knuckles or running Eggman. But why is Eggman the only one faced left? Notice they have little 'lobster claw' style small clasps rather than rings. That bit under each one is probably a lead-loop so they could be hooked together, or to other litems, like a charm. These ARE a "Sega 60th Anniversary" product.
Joypolis 6 Keychain Flat Art Set Here are 6 Joypolis Japan exclusive flat keychains.
It's rather too bad the photo is so small, you can't really tell what they are made of. It's possible these have 'sketchy line' edges. You can collect Amy, Shadow, Eggman, Tails, Sonic & Knuckles. Amy appears to be...walking? Shadow is pointing, Eggman is in the Eggomatic, Tails is flying, Sonic is sitting and...doing something/unclear what, & Knuckles is sleeping while the master Emerald is behind him/but really it's so large that his keychain is mostly about the Emerald instead of him. (A bit of an odd choice)
