Sonic the Hedgehog Shoes Page 1
Sonic may be known for his iconic red shoes, but you can be known for Sonic theme shoes if you can get or wear items from this page! This is all about Sonic Shoes (NOT slippers or socks, those have separate pages here on Gear) This can include sneakers, sandalas, slides, boots or anything else for in & outdoor wear. Shoes are NOT specific for boys or girls, anyone can wear any style. There are adults & kids sizes shown here as well. If it is known where to buy the pair, it'll be in with the item's listing as usual.
Shoes are a cool collectible, thought they can often be a bit costly. Sometimes they sell out fast, or are hard to find. Being fairly large, they're good for display, but if they've been worn, care has to be taken to make sure they don't deteriorate.

Sonic Slides Sandals Blue Face With the success of Sonic Slide Sandals in 2022, another pair appears in 2023. This pair is all blue, and made of light-weight foam for the soles with plastic for the tops. Each has a flat rubber die-cut (that keychain material) modern Sonic face for the top. The background has a scatter pattern of running light blue silouette Sonic on the darker blue background. The modern logo appears on the sole/heel area.
These have been found on Amazon in winter 2023, for about 19.00 in kids/teens sizes.
Something new? Seems so with Sonic Slide Style Sandals!
These classic themed sandals have black and white checker pattern for the whole foot part/sole, and a wide black band with the classic logo for the top. There are scattered running Sonic classic stock arts all over the checker pattern. The logo is full color. The whole thing is probably plastic. These are at Target in 2022, and only 14 dollars!
This is another example of a classic Sonic item, that has actual classic-era-look for the design.
Classic Style Checker Slide Sandals
These look like something that would have been out in the early 1990s. A good move for nostalgic fans. At a store that's everywhere, with a reasonable price, and sized for anyone, these are a good addition to the merchandise line up.
Fila Movie 2 EVO Sonic Shoes Fila shoes releases this version of their EVO shoe in red and white, and have labeled it for "Sonic Movie 2"...but...there's no movie branding on them, no Sonic on them, or anything Sonic related. They are indeed modeled after any of Sonic's shoes: but so is any shoe with a red upper, white sole and white strip across the middle with lack of laces.
Did they modify a pre-existing shoe? Yes they did. The regular EVO looks similar but the band is wider at the edges and usually has the logo across the top of the band. This shoe also doesn't actually appear in the movie so it doesn't go onto 'movie merch'.* It sold out likely within 1 day of being on Fila's website,
and they were fairly costly at over 100 per pair (adult sizes) There is no news of a remake or re-release on the line despite it selling out so quickly. Which is stupid...they're an existing shoe just with a color change deletion of pleather accents and simpler strap so it's not like they'd be stuck with it being super expensive to make or somehow not selling. Ride the tide of the movie and just make more, o giant company.
*Movie Merch- If it's not in the movie and not branded for the movie it's not really a tie-in it's just something that co-releases to get the popularity of an item at the time. It's like all the classic Sonic merch coming around on tees & such whenever a new modern game comes out. If "Sonic in general" is riding high for whatever reason, everybody just releases stuff---and that's just fine! More merch is better. Also: yes I would own this if I could.
Rare Black Sonic Sega Shoes 1990s Now here's something rare and interesting to see.
This is a pair of Sonic themed black kids sneakers from the 1990s. They are QUITE uncommon. However, many fans remember seeing these shoes either worn by others, in a store, or in photos so they were very often reported on, but with no photos to prove exactly what they looked like up until now. Why so many people have memories of them, but they are still/were still so rare is a mystery.
The other mystery here is what shoe company made them? It isn't evident, but they are actually pretty stylish. There's multi-color embroidery for the Sega logo on the heel. There is a zooming/jumped Sonic for both sides of the back of the shoe that's pretty big. A pick-up band of color in red/blue/yellow goes along the side to across the toe. The lace holes are red accented, & a red pattern is on the interior & top edge. The box is also clearly quite Sonic themed with him on there & comic book 'exploding blocks' style font too, plus logos & checkering all around.
The shoes in this photo are new, they still have the paper hang tag on there. So, that means that either somebody has kept the shoes since day 1, or these are very old photos. This is probably in the hand of a Sonic collector somewhere.
PUMA Sonic Original Shoes Puma Black Sonic Shoes Adults
The Puma & Sonic Shoe Collaberation worked in 2020!
Puma, the famous shoe brand teamed up with Sega & Sonic to make THREE different pairs of 'subtle-Sonic' shoes that you see here. AND they are for adults in real adult sizes! AND  Kids Too! So everyone is welcome to wear them, which, as fans know is a really good move but an awesome change from how things usually are. CG to Puma!
The first pair at top left are the "originals". Puma says that their colors are Sonic inspired with blue accents, 3 gold rings on each heel, and red/yellow/blue soles like the classic (Japanese type) box art. Here, you can find the Puma & Sonic face logo inside the shoe. There's also one on the square track area on the shoe sole, which is the same shape for every style of shoe. The other two pairs have checkering inside, but the same pair of logos.
Puma Red Black Green Sneakers Sonic
The next shoe is the stylish all-black pair, but you can see it has an added Sonic face on one side, as well as the 3 rings on the back and the shoe tongue detail. These soles are red, blue and black. The last pair is possibly a little bit Eggman inspired too? The uppers are black but with a red fade toward the heel. The heel then has the green/red 'caution stripe' detail, plus a text block with the score/time/rings readout that's always on the game screen. This pair again uses the nice gold foil under the rings, and still has the shoe tongue detail. Confusingly though, the soles add a kind of odd salmon/plah-doh pink plus the hot green and black. It looks a bit odd with the red, but isn't terrible or anything.
These are certain to be "Subtile Sonic" items. Only upon quite close inspection of the shoe could a non-fan recognize the Sonic elements seen here. And, that is just fine for some people as well as merchandise variety being really super. The best thing though is that they'll fit anybody. These should be about $120.00 AND you can buy them on the Puma website as long as they don't sell out. This is a Winter 2020 item. (If/when it sells out the link should go away) Discovered by Taaron.
X Shoe montage photo Sonic X Sneakers Overview Here are the much coveted Sonic X Sneakers! They are for boys or girls, but (sadly) only came in kids sizes. They were released around the time of the show (but later on) and are still quite wanted
X Shoe Knuckles Detail just as a collectible, not even as a wearable item. (Too small for pretty much anyone) Why? because they're just JAMMED with super detail! First of all, they light up when you run (lights flash behind Sonic panel)
Sonic X Shoe Sole Detail Then, there's Sonic detail at every turn. The box looks nice, with X logo, and 2 different Sonic arts. One side of the shoe (outer) has very shiny plastic 'jumping punch' Sonic, and the other side has a textured Knuckles portrait. But look at the background area for Knuckles: those aren't just dots, they're actually little tiny Sonic X logo heads. The top velcro has an X logo, the shoe tongue has a plastic Sonic face & the inside cushion layer also has an X logo. But the details don't stop there!
The heels have a X head raised/soft silver 'button' disk set in them. The sole of the shoe has a full color X logo in a clear/shiny 'bubble' of plastic. (Why? This is a real nice item, but it would be the first thing to get scuffed away to nothing) The foot arch area also has a 'spikes' looking design going on. It's no wonder the shoes are so highly desired (they were 14.99 when new, as evidenced by circle price tag there) a lot of thought went into branding them completely Sonic X. It's too bad they were uncommon when new, and small sizes only. This pair is in the SonicGear personal collection. (As of 2017, the light up feature still works)
Sega Power Sonic 1991 Sneakers This is a very early pair of Sonic themed kids' sneakers. They're likely from 1991, & use some Sonic 1 w/checkers stock art. The Sonic logo appears on the shoe toungue, and "Sega POWER" is written on the velcro straps. There is also a Sonic picture on the heel. Although the "Sega Power" slogan fell out of use around 1992, it didn't stop them from using it on their Sonic & Knuckles shoe that is clearly related to this pair. (See USA Accessories 2) This pair is also distinguished by the red & black design on the toe. These were in little kids' sizes only. Photo & owned by Tabbo Amber the Hedgehog
Sega Black Sonic & Knuckles Shoes S&K Symbol shoe sole detail Sonic & Knuckles Logo Inside
This is a cool pair of shoes! The Sonic theme elements are subtle & classy, and the sneakers themselves are stylish. These were
(as you can guess) released right after Sonic & Knuckles the game. Look at all the great detail! 2 Sega logos on the side (1 embroidered) but small & nice, S&K word and symbol inside the shoe, and even a cool S&K symbol as part of the traction on the bottom! The heels have the logo again in nice black & White, and on the shoe toungue is a rubbery Genesis controller replica with Sega printed on it. There may be a different style of shoe with this same attention to detail. Sneakers photo & owned by Taaron
