Franco, the home decor for kids franchises manufacturer is going big with Sonic in 2024! They're starting in the spring, and filling the scene with lots of great modern Sonic items.
This is their 82 x 63 inch curtain panel set of 2. They're a simple cloth curtain that slides along the rod without rings/hooks etc. They have CG art for modern Sonic, Tails & Knuckles, with a blue sky background that does a fade to darker blue at the bottom. The bottom has speed boost chevrons, red star rings & 10 ring icons along it. Do note that the pattern with the characters repeats/so it is not 1 big scene as this are meant to hang a bit folded. This is confirmed at Amazon for about 21 dollars

From regular curtains to a shower curtain!
Good news for your Sonic bathroom: it FINALLY can have a curtain! (In the USA) This modern shower curtain is by Franco, and has nice CG art for profile running Sonic & Tails, with gliding Knuckles. They're on a CG Green Hill type background, with some added flat shapes like bars, hexagons and arrows. Everyone really looks 'on the way/concentrating' here. The lush background keeps it game-like, but with suitable bathroom colors and it is not too busy. Notice the shower curtain rings: They're gold rings! This is a fun and special detail: it does come with them. This measures the typical 72x72 inches, and should be about 20 dollars.
*It is totally wonderful to see utility or mundane items like the shower curtain with a Sonic theme.

Franco adds another kids beds sheets set in spring 2024. This one has pretty much just a theme about rings...except the pillow cases. It's available for both twin beds and single/small. The fitted sheet is dark blue with repeating pattern of (Fairly large) gold ring, red star ring & Sonic in a ring. The top sheet has rows of speed-line chevrons, and rings on a lighter blue background.
It comes with 2 pillow cases that are the same, but have a flip-able design. (That has been used by them before) The front has Sonic, his name, and a 10 ring icon on a blue background, and the back features Knuckles & Tails on a red geometric background with red star ring. It's all CG, and they did use cheerful Knuckles here, which is a nice change of pace. This is 38 dollars for the twin bed (most common) size set.

Here are 2 new blankets for 2024 with Franco.
The first is a really big one, it's a Micro Raschel soft blanket that is 62 by 90 inches, enough for even a big bed or couch. It has nicely done CG art for fist out Knuckles, fist up Tails, and pointing down Sonic. The background is just rings and speed chevrons on colors of blue and gray. It is not busy.
The 2nd is the same size, but very busy, with an all-over pattern of art. There's running Sonic, fist out Knuckles, flying Tails & circles with palm trees and floating platforms.

between that, there are scattered rings. The blanket is big...and the designs are also fairly big but it comes across as super busy just because there's so much going on with contrasty colors on the mid-blue background. (Electric aqua and green not getting along well with the yellow rings and red Knuckles, etc) It could be ok, if the room its in isn't already busy. For some reason the CG art blanket is 29 dollars and the other is only 25, at Amazon.

More curtains, more Franco.
This set is the same size as the previous one 82 x 63 inches, but has a bit simpler design. Notice there is no ruffle of fabric at the top, the rod just scrunches through the top of the curtain. These are darker blue, with an all-over pattern of rings for the background. (they're semi-transparent/meant to fade into the background) The main pattern is CG characters in shiny gold rings. There's Sonic gesturing, Tails flying, and 3-point landing Knuckls. There are also red star rings, and all 7 colors of the chaos emeralds. This pattern also repeats all over, so the curtains will look ok folded/hanging. This is also about 20 dollars on Amazon

Now here's a first!
A Sonic clothes hamper! Of course, it's Franco that's the one to bring it out, and they do a good job. This is your traditional pop-up hamper that has wire rims and stretched fabric sides. You can collapse it flat when not in use, then pop it up and carry it with the strap handles you see at the top. Things like this make it easy for kids to put their dirty clothes away...but you can also use it to store plushes, your fabric projects, and other large but not too heavy items. It is a good idea.
The art is the same on both sides, jumping-twist modern Sonic with a Green Hill type CG background. The sides are blue see-thru screen, so you can tell at a glance how full it is. This is reasonably priced at about 15 dollars on Amazon.

An unusual item for Hot Topic, here is a framed art poster for Shadow. It is pretty plain, with a blank gray background. It uses lineless art of him doing look back/flat hand gesture. (What is this gesture? What is the meaning of having him like this?) The bottom has his name in the modern logo's font and format.
The lineless art makes it look somewhat unusual, but it's still a bit of an odd choice for a whole (quite large) framed poster. It is 25 dollars at Hot Topic in summer 2024

The first Igloo brand Sonic cooler did well, so they're back for more, this time in a fun pink theme and with more classic styled stuff. There's the 16 Oz. Can Cooler, which is a drink thermos shaped like a tall/big soda can, including the metal 'soda style' top that slides where the tabe would be. It has the same character art around it (and emeralds) that you see on the cooler lid there. The star of the show is the cooler itself, which is their small type one all in bright

pink. The lid is nicely all-over designed as usual. It has surprised looking flying Tails, fists together Knuckles, fist up Sonic and walking forward Amy with checkered pink ground, palm trees and rings. The sides (where the locking button is and hinge) have the chaos emeralds on them, with the same background. But what to put inside the cooler? How about a fun Sonic face ice pack! This slightly textured plastic flat/icon shaped ice pack is refillable (cap under the spike) and is the classic 3/4 view of his face. Everything here seems well designed, and it's fun to have a Sonic ice pack for anything. These are late summer/fall 2024 items and should also be at Amazon as well as Igloo carrying retailers.

The wacky Sonic Ice Cream bar returns...in pillow form!
Everyone's clearly in on the joke at this point, as the SanDiego Comiccon of 2024 brings out this quite large 18 inch pillow in special packaging. The pillow is shaped like the poorly formed face of the ice cream bar, complete with green plastic dots for the 'gumball eyes' that the original featured.
But why should the pillow be packaged? Another chance to make it look like the ice cream (that front art is the same as the actual bar had) and also that it is scented! It smells like the original ice cream bar too, so packaging it is a good way to keep the scent in and the pillow perfectly clean.
This was of course at SDCC2024, but also sold in Game Stop.

In the fall of 2024, this 2025 calendar appears, which is typical timing, however for some reason only the back showed up as a factory photo. This is by the same company as 2024's, Abrams Art of Books, and it should still be 16 dollars at Amazon (and probably elsewhere too)
It's a good big size, with nice art chosen, a good variety of characters/poses and the typical variety of slogans. Calendar front will be added when it appears.
*Opinion zone: don't bring up the werehog again, it's in the past.

A Sonic...deck chair? Well, this is likely a first. The company "Decorsome" creates this wood & very busy fabric kids foldable deck chair.

Travelling in Sonic style?
You can with this...Sonic Suitcase! Yes it's real carry-on sized luggage by Bio World in late 2024. It's a hard-sides rolling rectangle bag with directional wheels and pop up handle. It's half red half blue with the 'Eggman caution striping' through the angle/middle. Eggman is indeed looming in the background too. There's also large art for jumping/pointing Sonic, flying Tails and Knuckles is in the background. The design is fun, and clearly Sonic-like enough. It's great to see him on a utility type thing like a luggage item.
This may retail at about 80 dollars, has been seen on Amazon, but may be available for less elsewhere. It's a big piece, so who knows how long it would last on shelves. Very interesting.

They also create a photo that's pretty small so it's hard to tell what's going on with the fabric. It's clearly an 'all characters collage', but it's also repetitive for the size of the item. It's probably ok, but the lack of branding and hodgepodge design make it somewhat strange.

A classic beach towel from Franco appears in late 2024. It has neoclassic running forward Sonic, with rings around and behind him, on a black background. The full towel art is on the tag, however the close-up of the towel itself reveals that the design is stylized with horizontal lines through it that give a sort of 'double image' type effect. This does add interest, and keeps the art looking fresher than just 'more of the same' but with a rings/geometric background.
A good towel, if you didn't already have something similar. This has been found a Big Lots stores, but is likely available elsewhere because Franco is pretty popular. It should be about 12 dollars. This is in the Sonicgear collection.

What is this Hallmark Handle? It's another (yes the 2nd, actually) Sonic themed pizza cutter wheel. The first one made more sense, because it had the 'rolling Sonic' classic art so he'd actually roll as you used the wheel. This time though, they add a slightly 3D running Sonic to the wheel, and then take a photo at an odd angle/reflection so you can't really tell what the item is too well.
Uh oh! Did you catch the mistake?
Look at his arms! One of them is blue and the other one isn't! Hallmark's notorious LACK of quality control is at it again here, apparently on full display for 2024 announced products. How do you miss something like that as a product designer?
Also, why make the character slightly 3D on there? These things get shoved into pizza grease and sauce by their very job, it's just going to create something harder to clean? A wierd 3D effect, wierd art choice, and wierd mistake to leave on there...Hallmark's not doing too well with this one. (And it's probably also expensive)
