Bendies or Flexible Figures These not-quite-action figures are made of soft, painted plastic. They have a wire frame inside which allows them to (mostly) keep poses. They are not jointed, so the poses can get...odd. Usually these are small, inexpensive types, but as you'll see this is not always the case. Unlike regular action figure lines where it seems to be 1 company gets the license for many years, bendies can pop up from various companies at any time. |

TCG Toys makes "Bendems" a line of bendie figures, and they add the modern Sonic license in 2022 winter season. They start with a wave that has Sonic, Tails, Knuckles & Eggman so you can have bendable battles with the flat-ish figures. Bendems line usually features styleized characters, as is the case here. Everyone is greatly flattened out and the shoes are foreshortened. Features are minimized (Tails' tails, Knuckles spikes) while others are maximized such as long noodly arms and legs. This is done to facilitate bending, of course. Bendems has many licenses that are actually oddly diverse including not only Sonic but JoJo Siwa, Spongebob and...Tom Clancy Rainbow Six? Yes. |

(Has nothing to do with rainbows, is a military game/realistic) They're bubble carded and always generally about 5 dollars each. You can see that these are from 5 Below (a natural place) The back has a photo of the other characters on the wave. Out of the 3 here, Tails is clearly the weakest link. He's the most off-model with his tiny, withered tails that are not fun to bend. Knuckls at least kept his big fists. But to basically rid of the characters' main feature isn't really a good look for the figure. Sonic will be added to the page when found. |
