It's time for Sonic! With Sonic the Hedgehog themed watches of the USA. There were so many watches, that they had to get their own page away from accessories to keep them sorted. The watch page can have both vintage and new time pieces. But, if it goes on your wrist & is Sonic themed, you can see it here. (And if you don't...you can send in photos) |

Accutime tries out another 'survival Sonic set' type watch with this 4 piece set. It has a modern Sonic digital watch (face is round, the time is in that little rectangle under his face), a 'survival cord strap' (with mini compass!), a small flashlight on karabiner and a blue bag to put it all in when you are not using it. The watch is ok, the band is nicely decorated with lots of Sonic line art on an all blue background. It has the usual plastic buckle/strap. When the actual LCD screen is that small rectangle, it is usually the least-expensive-possible thing they can do. The strap is that 'paracord' stuff, which if undone from its fancy folding is nearly impossible to redo. Both it, and the flashlight are generic/padding items to 'increse the value' without increasing the Sonic contnet. (too bad) The bag, at least, has the logo S on it. Tiny compass is actually cool and useful, because they are magnetic, their size doesn't affect their ability to work. Where is this set sold?

Accutime has a variety in the type of watches they're bringing for 2025. These are the LED Rainbow Ring Sonic watch and Analong Sonic Kids watch. Both are about 12 dollars on Amazon. The left uses all CG art for Sonic, Tails and Knuckles on the band, which has a plastic buckle.
The gimmick is that when you press the side button, led lights do a rainbow around the edge of the round watch face. Because of that, the actual watch part is thicker than usual. The numbers here are digital, and rather large in red. The analog watch uses full color modern art for the face and band. It has running Sonic on the face, but the hands cover up his face to a degree. Tails and Knuckles are on the band here. This one uses metal for the bezel (border), and the buckle, so it's likely a bit tougher. The bezel also has numbers on it. Notice that the hands have writing on them too, "Hour" and "Minute" because it is a little kids learning watch. |

This is the Accutime Flashlight Watch. Combining watches with other things is nothing new, but this is likely the first Sonic flashlight watch. That big rectangle thing on the side there is the LED flashlight part, activated by the orange button on top. The watch face here is mostly square, with a running modern Sonic art, and LCD small screen for the time. (If it's not backlit though, you can't use the flashlight to see the time in the dark!) The strap is the usual plastic. It is about 12 dollars and is seen on Amazon. | ![]() |

More smart watches...still from Accutime. Each of these is about 33 dollars on Amazon, which is actually pretty reasonable for all of the things these will actually do. You can play games, change the watch face styles among preset images, it has a step counter, records video or audio, calander functions/reminder and more. Both bands are nicely Sonic styled, with metal buckles. It seems like a good idea for a kids starter-smartwatch at a good rate.

Here is a rare sight: This wooden box 3 watch collection. It is "international", but you can tell it was a Japan First type of thing which they then let out to America (and where else?) A nice wooden box with engraved lid (Sonic picture Segasonic branding) has a foam in it that holds 3 different analog watches, each with a different strap type. The black strap is shiny, with 'segasonic' around the face & a gold-ish Sonic art.
The middle has probably a nylon weave strap with close-up Sonic face (in color)...but look at the bezel for that one, it is special as it has his spikes as part of the metal rim. This is metallic gold. The third is red textured leather with Knuckles in gold-ish on the face with his name on there too. There's a plastic card of authenticity, and a paper in the lid. Look at the number that is behind the plastic card, this was a numbered/limited set--if you could see it, it would tell you which out of how many this one is. The text in the lid is both in English and Japanese. What does it say? "Sonic the Hedgehog has reached the plateau of popular game characters with its supersonic speed. Sonic the Hedgehog created speed action and a cute and stylish appearance which had been lacking in the game industry and achieved its position as one of the most popular game characters through its characteristic of being “cool but gentle”. The other characters such as Sonic’s friend Tails and his rival Knuckles also add a taste to the fascination of the series." 1991 It is directly copied and yes it has mistakes and wow is that a run-on sentence there that doesn't say too much. (Note that STH there refers to the franchise, not the character in the first sentence) The card says "Segasonic Timewear" This is one of the few instances that 'segasonic' branded things got outside of Japan. It is from 1991, so one of the earliest pieces of merchandise, maybe one of the very first high-end things as well. Photographed and owned by: |
