The CG animated Sonic Prime debut on Netflix in 2023.
The show's theme is different dimensions, where in each one, all the characters and locations are very different. Sonic has to put back together mystical crystal shards to stop Eggman from taking everything over. Each dimension has the familiar cast of characters, but they have different costumes, settings and personalities. This is, of course, 'prime' for toys and merchandise because of all the variations. Naturally, there are several of Eggman too, and he is always up to making more gimmicks and robots along the way.
The items here should be considered WORLD items, so the individual entries should list where they should be able to be bought. It's likely USA will have the most, but it's sure not the only place. Because Prime is different enough than modern/classic and games contexts, its items will be cordoned off onto Prime Pages. This is a general merchandise page, if any one thing becomes too numerous here, it'll get splintered off onto a separate category.

Trooper Sonic Figure Trooper Sonic Box Back 2024 will see a 5 inch line figure for Sonic Trooper from Jakks Pacific. His wave will have Batten Rouge from NoPlace Pirates, a Sonic and Renegade Knuckles from New Yoke.
As expected, the very mechanical look translates perfectly into a great action figure. With obvious 'hinges' and etc. as joints it's easier to make mechanical looking things into very accurate figures, so Jakks Pacific has no problems with this bad guy.
Notice the 2 round dots on the head...those are photography lights reflecting off the figure--it's deceptive/a whoops that it looks like little dot eyes. The actual eye-representations are the white thin lines far below. This does look pretty much just like the show, and is going to be a good one to collect. You can't read the box-back text from here/it will be updated on the entry once the figure is aquired.
Thorn Rose Boscage Maze MIB Figure Here is Boscage Maze's villian/heel-face turn character Thorn Rose, that place's Amy Rose. At the 5 inch size, she's a great, and super detailed figure. She looks good in the box, with her rock mallet and very nicely done hair/clothing details. The Prime style of box is fitting as well, she doesn't look small on the shaped bubble & everything fits normally on display.
The box back explains 13 points of articulation, and says that she's 100% about saving the environment and 0% about making friends--which is true in the show.
Thorn Rose Turn Around Photos A closer look at the figure here reveals a great amount of detail, and that Jakks Pacific did capture it all. Are there things here you didn't even notice while watching the Netflix show?
Her hair is assymetrical, and all of it is textured, she has a tattoo on one arm of a circle and some lines, the bottoms of the shoes are textured too, and the stitching on the leaf skirt is indeed raised/3D detail. Getting this figure out of the box & really inspecting it is very nice, they really did get all the detail here. Having movable ankles, knees and elbows (despite the boot like thick shoes) lets her do lots of poses.
The hammer is solid plastic though, and heavy for the figure to hold. It becomes more difficult to balance her (maybe it should have been hollow/made of something lighter) but it's not a big deal. She has her signature snarly expression and is shown flatting her ears in her usual rage. The rope that holds the glove pads on does slightly hinder adding the handle to her hand (bump on palm)

Complex designs get to shine:
Because they are characters created for a modern TV show, the Sonic Prime-specific characters like this one have LOTS more detail than main-line characters by default. She looks natural with the 'hairs' texture applied to her bangs & other spikes here because she was designed that way (rag-tag forest etc)--whereas the Sonic figure...not so much because he is slick and smooth by default so making him wooly/hairy/textured etc doesn't come across as helping his design or make the figure look any better or 'more realistic'.
More detail on her is more of an opportunity for their figure design to shine, however, as figures like this really impress when there ARE details to pack onto them like leafy textures, accessories, sculpted complex hair styles, stitching and more. (This isn't just for Thorn Rose, all the Prime exclusive characters except maybe some of the Eggmen will be this way)

Sonic Prime Shadow Figure Turns Because Sonic Prime didn't change Shadow's look any / he never had any variant versions of him, getting this figure is a no-brainer even if you didn't like Prime. It's basically just Shadow with some slightly odd added texturing to him, but in a larger size with better articulation than their main line. The box/listing will say Boscage Maze, but that's just the wave he was on, he had nothing to do with it.
They don't miss a beat with any of the paint applications, details, or sculpting anywhere here, as expected.
His expression is the usual 'serious', which is also fine. He stands pretty well, but some of him may need a bit tighter knee joints (middle) to keep poses well. He's still quite a worth-while buy for anyone a fan of the show or otherwise.
Prime Figure Size Different Are the Prime figures actually all that different from the main line?
Yes, as this photo shows. Of course, because they are attempting to scale the figures (good) in most cases, their '4 inch' line is "4 inch or so", as seen with classic Sonic here. He's not the line's tallest figure nor the shortest, but the Prime Shadow is still clearly a bigger line.
Wave 2 Boscage Maze Sonic 5 inch mib
Wave 2 of the 5 inch figures brings Boscage Maze Sonic to the line up.
As is the usual with the entire line, it's the same version of the figure, just with the gloves and shoes changed to that area's style/look.
It's sure to be a handy thing for JP, because just keep releasing the same thing over and over after swapping out the hands and feet and watch everybody keep buying it. However, that IS exactly how the show goes, so it's not like that is a legitimate complaint (despite Twitter). It's not like there's anything else they could do, and they do need to keep releasing figure lines as the show is ongoing through 3 'seasons' on Netflix and the fans will want figures of each way that a character appears.
Segaprize Amusements Prime Plush It's not all figures, as Sega-Prize Amusements proves with this toy show photo. Here, they show that they will be adding Prime themed plushes to the prize selection to win at arcades. The first wave of 4 will have regular Prime Sonic, New Yoke Rebel Rouge, probably...Tails9? and a little-big-heads version of Mr. Dr. Eggman. It's a good selection for a first wave, and they mostly look ok from this angle, except Tails 9 it's kind of hard to tell what's going on.
Ravensburger Puzzles 3 Pack Prime Ravensburger is a puzzle manufacturer for many different franchises, and in 2024 they got 2 Sonic licenses. (Modern & Prime) So here, they produce a puzzle 3 pack for Sonic Prime, each with 49 pieces. So, it's in-between little kids and big kids type puzzles: not too simple or too complex.
The designs you get are Mr. Dr. Eggman alone, a Drs/Boscage Maze puzzle and one with only Boscage Sonic on there but the way it's positioned makes it hard to tell that it's a puzzle too, it just looks like box art. And why such a focus on the Drs? Mr Dr Eggman is also clearly the star of the 2nd puzzle too, with Dr. Deep & Dr. Babbel in the background...but why Feral Tails? He doesn't even have any lines and appears for only seconds in the show. The layouts aren't bad, they just have strange choices. This is 19 dollars on Amazon
Rusty Rose MIB Figure Large Here's what Rusty Rose looks like on the card.
She's nicely featured in the bubble, and it doesn't look crowded even though she's a taller figure. The back notes 13 points of articulation AND an almost hidden fact that one of her arms is 'extendable' as an added feature that only a few of the figures have. (Ex. Mr Dr Eggman had the toupee action) The extendable arm is the darker one/very square, and it extends by such a small amount and is hard to do (it is pull/snap to extend) that it is difficult and hard to notice at all. It also makes that hand unable to turn or pose. The box back shows that Boscage Maze Sonic, Gnarly Knuckles, and Shadow are also on her wave.
The box blurb says "A mechanically enhanced hedgehog, she is overly logical and has a detatched disposition". They have to be careful not to add spoilers for the show to the box back blurbs.
Rusty Rose Figure Turn Arounds This figure IS one to take out of the box, because the details and especially the paint work for her is really what shines. They've got clever tricks and a good eye for detail, but you can't really see it when she's still on the card. This turn around will show all of what's going on with Rusty Rose.
First off, notice the metallic paint, they have a good bright silver (so why don't they use this on the
main line??? So annoying! They HAVE good materials as this proves...) which looks great for the fingers and back. But then, they do something really clever: a faux-brushed finish of metallic coppery color on the metal spikes for the back of her head. It gives the impression of worn pink paint over a real-metal surface...just like the show! Without using any metal at all. This also appears on her other limbs and it is a great application trick to use.
Next is the level of detail that she has in the show is copied here, so the spikes ridges, the 'hinges' in the bangs, and the arm and skirt details are all here. The fingers are especially well sculpted. By using different paints and textures, it's also clear that the mouth area/top of head and one eye is the only flesh part of the character too.
The 2nd and 4th photo show the extra arm 'action': in the 2nd its extended, in the 4th it's not. This is a really strong figure/leads the great design category: but that is expected because a robotic character with a good level of detail is ideal for action figures with their robotic-already joints and sculpted look. 100% recomended if you enjoy the show.
Renegade Knuckles New Yoke Figure
In early 2024, Jakks Pacific revealed their Renegade Knuckles from New Yoke figure. This adapts his New Yoke details like the belt, 1 sock, muted-colors for the shoes, beanie-cap, elbow bad guard and that he has strapped on a 'knuckle duster' with a 3rd spike between his 2 natural ones. His expression is somewhat neutral/concerned. Do the spikes look overly straight down? Was it like that in the show?
He'll still be a good figure to collect, if you're getting all the variations of each character seen in the show.
Jakks Pacific 13 inch size Tails Nine Plush
Jakks Pacific will release 13 inch size plushes for some of the characters.
Here's a good look at their Tails Nine. (Is that the photo above? It's hard to tell the size there/if this is the same doll) They seem to be doing a good job here of watching the added details of the show. You can see the taller ears, ear-tip details, mis-matched gloves/glove with the green dial on it, the cog-design for his shoes and the outfit. They handle the tails by just forming them all into 1 big one & using printed fabric to try and show the different parts. It's probably the only thing they could do, becuase he's too detailed otherwise.
What's curious with this picture is, does he have 5 fingers or 4? It would be a big mistake to mis-count the fingers after they put in all that effort. The feet are a little small, but that's not a big deal. His expression is fretful, which is also fairly in-character. If this holds up to side/back views, it'll be a good plush for fans of the show.
