Jakks Pacific Small Line Sonic Action Figures 6

Jakks Pacific got the license in 2019, and this page has 2023 and 2024 figures. This page will have their 2024 articulated SMALL figures only. They have both modern and classic license, so any figure that falls in the "Small 2-inch Articulated Action Figures" category will be on this page if it was in 2023 or 2024. But if it's by Jakks Pacific and it's an action figure, check them out here. UK NEWS: These & other JP figures CAN be at Smyth's Stores! |

Vector starts things off with this boxed mini figure. He, like others of the small line was sold twice, once as bubble carded (in the toys area) and then again (a bit later) at the check out counters in stores like Target & Walmart in this windowless box format. (Replaced the open-seat boxes) It's the same figure just different packaging. With the bubble carded one being expensive and hard to get, it's great to see them continuing with these boxed versions too so that everybody can get one (hopefully) as this is a cool figure. The crinkly white waxy paper there keeps him from moving around in the box and protects it. His wave features the all new Caterkiller, and re-releases for popular figures Gold Chao, Rouge the Bat, Ray and then classic Sonic. |

Jakks Pacific remains true to form, the small figure is exactly the bigger one, just scaled down and with no knees. His mouth/face is slightly flexible plastic, a good move to help him not break. The neck chain is fully 3D, and lets him have more/natural looking head turn poses. The tail though...was really only meant to be in about 1 position with how it's sculpted (instead of more 'neutral') He naturally has kind of odd proportions (super long arms, wedge shaped, then tiny legs) so his poses are also somewhat limited. Still, with excellent paint job, great sculpt & etc. this is a fantastic figure to be had for about 5 dollars. Collect this one quickly!
Here's a Caterkiller close up of what it looks like on the card. (Hopefully it appears boxed later) It's funny and cute looking like the original games. The 1 is there for the point of articulation and that's because...it has wheels! If you look carefully you can see them under there. The thing to notice here is that it got into DDs Discounts...without getting into Target or Walmart (or anywhere else??) first. Discount stores like that are only supposed to get figures that are older or didn't sell elsewhere first, so it's odd. |

Newtron gets a turn in the solid-sides box that appears at registers in Target and Walmart. Good to see badnicks coming out more than once, as some times the bubble carded figures weren't easy enough to get/there weren't enough of them on store shelves. This wave also features the Egg Robo (a first for the small line) in this box type (odd, because usually a new character gets the bubble card treatment first) A good chance to pick up the Badnick if you couldn't find it before.
The Tornado plane appears as a toy! (And it's about time too, since it appears in so many games) This is the version that Tails modified with a rocket engine underneath. The seat fits a standard small line figure (but it might not fit Tails? Because of his tails..hmm)
This features sounds! That 6 on the box there refers to how many sounds/music that it can play from the games. A good addition for a big toy like this.
Of course, it comes with the usual Sonic figure. You can see little bumps on the tops of the wings, those are probably to fit and hold a figure's foot. Price data for it is pending, but the release is reportedly fall 2024. Discovered by Taaron
Another fun badnick joins the small line lineup, and it's the Ball Hog from Sonic 1. In the game, the little door in the belly dot would open and it would dispense a ball to bounce along the ground and try to stop Sonic. (It...wasn't a particularly threatening badnick) What's a bit interesting here is that they seem to have added shoe details and its wearing gray trainers. You can move the arms and turn the head, which is an ok amount of articulation for something
that is a small 5 dollar figure. So far, it's just found boxed at the registers at Target & Walmart (no bubble card sighting yet) It's on a wave with determination-expression classic Sonic, repeat of Mighty, modern Tails, the netural chao again and Shadow again. Naturally, this makes it the most desirable one on the wave (so expect harder to get) as it's the only completely new item on the wave.
The Oil Ocean zone now gets a small line play set/diorama type thing. And this time, it looks like the extra accessories pack is coming out for it at the same time. (A better move than before) This looks good, as they have details from the zone like the pollution clouds, sunset/yellow backdrop, and the base has a slightly
ripply surface like the oily ocean that Sonic could jump off of if you went fast enough. The interactive elements here are that you can turn the handle on the pipe, pull the dangle handle/chain thing, and move the sliding spikes ring that goes along the pipe to prevent intruders. There's also pop out pollution clouds (somewhat clear) and flame clouds that go underneath/pop out of a slot. It looks good, but it would look better with... Accessories from the Oil Ocean accessory pack. This has the little purple tower things that had icons on the tops (These did spin in the game but didn't seem to have much purpose) a green button, and the Octobot which only appeared in that zone. Of course it's also got another Sonic and a Knuckles figure in there too. This is supposed to be a fall 2024 release item, and should be reasonably priced like the previous dioramas. |

It's the Level Clear Capsule Set! This iconic capture-capsule (or something similar) almost always appeared at the end of the level, once you spin the sign around. And, just like in the games, when you press down on the button on top, it pops in half to let out the little animals. In this case, it comes with 2 of them, a Flicky bird and Rocky rabbit. (Of course if you have others from other sets you can stuff them in there too) The sign does spin, and has Sonic's portrait on the other side. This is a good idea for a not-quite playset, it really helps complete a shelf diorama of a level and is just fun to have. This should be about 15 dollars, and is a 2024 item |
