Sonic the Hedgehog Modern Pins & Keychains of the USA 9
This page of USA Sonic Pins & Keychains will have only modern items. For actual classic items, see Pins/Keychains pages 1 and 2. Because they're not that big, some of the older ones may be harder to find. This should have keychains from between 2021 to 2024 Some of these keychains may be available in the Sonic Gear Store.

Throw another one into the pile of 'pins you cant have' because here's Figpin's Super Sonic Pin. He's available (not) in both normal enamel and as seen here the glitter enamel. So why can't you have this one? Because it went into Figpins' "TikTok Shop" (Yes, the lying spying app of miscreant promoting algorithms somehow has a stupid store now) for 20 dollars each and then they only did 1000 of them because arbitrary limits are apparently really cool/who wants money anyway. s/. What is it with pin companies? Figpin is one among many but it seems like they're all additcted to making random stupid limited stuff |

so that fans can't get it. Hardcore "collect ALL THEPINS" people will buy this out within 2 minutes even if they hate Sonic just to say they have a rare tiktok pin or some nonsense. Make a special limited pin and then make a normal version and sell it! It's not hard. (Like, put the glitter one at 1000 then just make the character normally and sell it like a normal product vendor geez)
October is the month for trick or treat (2023)... So the Sega Shop releases this Knuckles pin where he's in his Halloween costume as a pirate. They choose classic Knuckles, draw him sitting, and have him with a pirate eye patch and the captain hat, complete with Jolly Roger on there. It's a nice amount of detail for a metal and enamel pin of this size. The art seems to be new too...there wasn't a stock art of Knuckles just sitting, so it may have been produced for this pin. The only point of confusion is how the crossed leg is attached to his body/if at all, because the way it is not in perspective has it...sort of branching off from his other leg somehow. A detail that small will likely be overlooked though, so it's still a good pin to add to the collection. This is a SegaShop merch photo. |

At a toy show or possibly a comic con (unknown) Just Funky brought along their pin board to show off new designs. They seem to bring this around anywhere they go. (As evidenced by the SDCC 2020 pin they've left on there for years) This board does showcase new pins and characters, but the format of their release is still unknown. Like will they do sets, individuals/etc? You can see new poses like peace signs Amy, peace sign Tails, and flying forward Metal Sonic. There's also 2 from that new odd 'classic food shilling art' with Pizza Knuckles & Chili Dog Sonic. Ignore the 2 lower right characters/different franchise. You can also spot Infinite Jackal and re-releases of their fist up Eggman & fist up Shadow along with movement Eggman and sliding away Tails. Hopefully they'll do some sort of announcement for when/how much fans can start getting these metal and enamel pins. This is Just Funky's own photo. |

The first run of the Just Toys keychain figures was a success, so here comes wave 2, in Spring 2024. This is a classic wave with arms crossed Sonic, stepping Super Sonic, cheerful Tails, tilting hand-clasp Amy, rolling Sonic and fist up Knuckles. There are 2 twists here though, with rare figures! 3 of them could be a glow figure (the rolling Sonic, Amy, or Knuckles) OR there's a very rare 24k gold plated figure (not shown, just announced on the box) These are still blind-boxed, just like before. The problem then being that there's 2 regular Sonics on the run and you can't control who you get. The poses they have chosen for everybody are quite nice though, they're something different than trying to copy a stock art, and are pretty expressive. The glow gimmick is also a fun one, especially because its any of the 3 who could be a glow surprise. |

Keep hands (and other items) less-germs with hand sanitizer on a keychain. This is the classic Sonic hand sanitizer bottle holder. It appears to come with a generic, refillable bottle for the sanitizer. The keychain item itself looks like a plastic case with loop at the top and usual karabiner clip. You probably can add the bottle with a snap or something on the back. The art here is just neoclassic forward-facing Sonic on a blue background. Depending on price/sturdyness this could be an ok item to attach to a bag or backpack. (However, the plastic/layers ones with full slightly relief characters seem a bit more fun) This may be an Amazon item, details pending anyone writing in about it. |

If you recall Monogam Inc. had a series of "Figural Bag Clips" (So, large keychains meant for school bags and such) on a previous page here at Gear...well it was a success (despite blind bagging) and so it has led to series 2, which is what you see here. This 2nd series is packaged and sold/displayed the same way, in foil bags in a cardboard dispensing tray. Of course, there's repeated characters but they're in different poses, but everybody's in the same 'little big heads' but NOTemoji style. Sadly you can't choose who you get and they're pretty expensive at like 7 or 8 dollars a clip so all it's going to do is drive scalpers. |

You can get thumbs up Sonic, hands on hips Tails, fists up Knuckles, fist out Metal Sonic, open hand Shadow, palms out Silver, open hand Blaze, standing Cream, fingers up Infinite, ready pose Super Sonic or just standing there Big the cat. But, do you notice something about the descriptions here? First it says that SS is a chase one, again...scalpers' paradise and fans' bane. |
|||||||||||||||||
But then, Big is the other chase but it says that "he is holding froggy", but then...where's Froggy? Big's famous question from the game is here because Froggy sure isn't in any photo they've got so far. Also notice how neither chase appears pictured on the display box--you had to get the Toy Fair photo here to see who they even were. These may be found at Amazon, Hobby Lobby, Gamestop has been known to have them, and sometimes at the cards/registers area at Walmart or Target can get it. |

A 5 pack of pin badges appears at Hobby Lobby in fall 2024. And maybe Eggman was in charge of it, because his smiling face is the biggest pin making him the star! Each badge has a shiny plastic surface and a super-cropped face of a character. You get Sonic Knuckles Eggman, Tails and Shadow. But look at the back of the package, that white sticker there has the price and looks to convince you that it may be a Hobby Lobby exclusive...but if you open it, you'll see the real copyright info and that it's made by Pyramid America (they did some Prime stuff and some keychains for Sonic before) so this may be able to be found elsewhere if you're boycotting the Lobby. It is quite reasonably priced at 3.50 for the set. |

Ah Figpin, where are your pins? The annoyingly hard to get yet quality pin line from Figpin (debatably) continues with New York Comic Con 2024's booth pin Glitter Edition Super Shadow. So, another exclusive you can't have because there's only 500 of it and it is an event booth exclusive. (Here we go scalping again I'm sure) Naturally it's very desirable because the pin is quite large, the art is great, the glitter is a very cool touch, and the whole thing is just very well done and completely appealing to Shadow fans. But the usual question of why not just release the non-glitter version regularly must again be asked because fans want merchandise to own not just look at online and go 'oh well' at because you are not getting this. Price: irrelevent. |
